VANG VIENG (Laos)

Captain's Log Laotian date astral 2014

As the bus climbs to Vang Vieng the nature changes between lush green rice fields and palm trees ...

When you arrive, you are struck by the majesty of the karst mountains that surround it, rich in forests and caves: the latter make Vang Vieng a paradise for cavers ...
But the endless activities that you can do ranging from biking to rafting to tubing and rock climbing ..
After I set I took a bungalow by the quiet part of the river because the other night, live music and pubs, and makes a hell those who want to rest ..
By night the little town on the river is lit by lights that reflect in the water, giving it a unique charm.

Yesterday, after several kilometers on mountain bikes have reached the Blue Lagoon, a place to enjoy a swim and jump to dip by vines and trees on the river.

But after the pleasure of a cool bath or before if you prefer, after high steps of rccia that climb up the mountain you should definitely visit the cave overlooking the Blue Lagoon ... the Tham Phu Kham (Tham means cave in Laos).
Never, never, I made a 'caving experience so amazing !!

After entering, torch head, huge open rooms, endless, majestic and humid ... gigantic stalactites and stalagmites are the columns in this temple chthonic, subterranean darkness that inevitably brings me back to the dawn of my soul, its darkness and its fragility ...

You walk for over an hour, if you do not stop, a cave to the next sometimes pushing into rocks or casings slippery and wet ..
But the show that every time you open under torch light always leaves amazed !! .... until you return them ... the entrance from where it all began and where a sleeping Buddha to welcome guests ..

Without even the 'experience of the kayak the last day along the Nam Lik: 4 hours paddling along the river that enters in Vang Vieng. .even here unique experience, immersed in nature and through gorges and mountains that rise high and lush .. Last Supper in this place I will stay in the heart and tomorrow for the cultural capital dsl Laos: Luang Prabang, declared 'UNESCO heritage ddll'umanità and named after the famous Buddha 38 cm high alloy of gold and silver, symbol bill Laotian Buddhism ...
