HALONG BAY (Vietnam)

Diary of Captain
Vietnamese stardate 2014

And here I am back from this two-day mini-cruise to Halong Bay!In the beginning the intention was to go venturing in the fjords and islands emerging from the sea in a kayak ... but unfortunately the bad weather made me change my plans and I opted for a boat and relax on board, ferried between the islands and lulled by the sea ..You can not describe the beauty of this World Heritage Site ... because its glory and excitement that can give you have to live for yourself.

But in wanting to prove I can tell you that you have browsed these islets like a blast from the past .. feeling aboard a pirate galleon, nestled between the tropical green and wild orchids, hanging down from the rocks, skim the waters as far away .. gaze is lost among thousands of the largest islands and not so great ... but superb ... that tower into the sky ... some are hollow and the inside hides beautiful fringed limestone caves of stalactites and stalagmites and sometimes smoothed by the sea he leaves that emerge on the rock showy signs of millions of years through its marine fossils ...

Sometimes however, climbed to the top of some of them, discover their inner filled with brackish water to form lakes and lagoons protected by cliffs and forests ... and here are the Halong orchids ... why only us here some species are born! After hiking and kayaking outings to discover fishing villages that live on floating houses surrounded between the islands, I let myself lulled the sway of my thoughts ...I leaned on the railing of the boat on which I stand in the Bay of Along a cigarette ... .. waves chasing each other in the evening breeze .. other boats floating on black water in the darkness and the moon to the new moon, peeking between the clouds, like torn sails, let it shine in a magical nebula to be reflected on the water of the Bay .. thoughts chasing each other just like the waves, the wind, the sea and the moon of this dream that i live !!

I go back to Hanoi ... again ... the last! ... Because tomorrow maybe finally going south, toward the more temperate climate and warm beaches to enjoy the sun and sea ...Goodbye Hanoi !! Goodbye Halong ....

Addio Hanoi!! Addio Halong....

PHU QUOC (Vietnam)

PHU QUOC

Captain's log,
Vietnamese StarDate 2014-

Here I am almost come to the conclusion of my trip to Laos and Viet Nam, although, truth be told, I was too little time and many, many other things deserve to be seen by these two wonderful Countries.
Starting tomorrow for Ho Chi Minh, the last step before resuming the flight to Europe and return to the sweet, sweet home!

Already! ... why Pilgrim as I am and as the continuous deep introspection cues suggest traveling solo with yourself ... return to their nest there from the safety of the turtle in its shell.
I try to share my experiences and my trips with my friends, in the hope that those who have the eyes dormant, by custom to look at the world, but only their own world, as far as their own little nest ... notice that the horizons are thousands and ready to be explored by each of us, in myriad forms of travel but always moved by curiosity of knowledge ...

My travel is immersing myself among the people, eat as they eat (convinced that food is one of the most interesting people in anthropological terms!), try to see the world through their eyes in order to understand different points of view and, therefore, have a greater capacity to suffer (in the Latin sense of being involved ...) mankind, so varied , peculiar and substantially similar!!

Travel, in the sense that I do it, not only serves to open better eyes, but to open better the soul and heart.
I always come back from a trip like this: thinking again about the thousand faces, smiles, gestures and contacts with people you meet on the way ...Is richer inwardly back, but, more importantly, is best understood the human soul, its needs, the difficulties of communicating due, often, to those artificial and unnecessary barriers created by the so-called Western civilization!A wrong model, where appearance takes precedence over the substance of beings, where social status is not meritocratic, but unfortunately corrupted by interest groups that dictate alone the rules of the "well-being" common ...

Here everything is simple, natural, immediate ... unmediated !!!The people are curious beings in wanting to communicate, in wanting to relate to others and discover the immediacy of the meetings, simple, direct and real and not mediated by a prejudiced understanding of the social or political or religious status of the other! humans they encounter humans ....Braids done it always comes back with a new consciousness and cooler, a broader view and universal life, and with fewer and fewer prejudices towards each other ...

It also returns more aware that the real jungle is not the one encountered in Laos or elsewhere !! That dimension of the struggle for survival of oppression aimed at the other's for their own good ... that it is experienced by us in the West !! Far more dangerous and full of pitfalls that sleeping in a hut in the jungle ...I could not end better my little trip dwelling on this island !!Wonderful, still immersed in its nature, in its white sand beaches and the turquoise sea ...

I hope it lasts as much as possible .. certainly it is saved until now because it still little known to the world, but soon will arise here in concrete resorts and hotels: if you can, visit it now!The photos speak for sè..inutile dwell in partisan descriptions ...Thanks to Life that gives me so much!
